Martin Hall

Senior Physiotherapist

>> BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy
>> BSc (Hons) Sports Science
>> BTEC Diploma Sport & Remedial Massage Therapy

Martin graduated from Liverpool John Moores University (UK) in 1999 with a Sport Science degree. As part of his Sport Science degree he completed a dissertation on injury and biomechanics in cricket fast bowlers. It was this research that led Martin into physiotherapy. After 2 years travelling around the world Martin returned to university to study Physiotherapy, graduating with a Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree from Kings College London (UK) in 2005.

Martins’ first post as a physiotherapist was in a large university teaching hospital within the UK’s National Health System, where he gained extensive experience working within musculo-skeletal outpatients, orthopaedics, rheumatology and neurological rehabilitation. During his time in the NHS, Martin was lucky enough to see various orthopaedic surgeries and follow through rehabilitation from in-patient to out-patient care. Having such extensive training has helped develop Martin’s expertise in post-operative rehabilitation.

After 4 years working in the NHS Martin left the UK shores to live and work in New Zealand. Working in a busy Wellington medical centre, he worked closely with GP’s in diagnosing and managing a wide variety of acute sports and work related injuries. During his time in NZ Martin completed postgraduate training in manipulative physiotherapy, dry needling and designing exercise rehabilitation programmes for complex injuries.

In 2010 Martin moved to Australia and has now decided to hang up his travelling boots and call Sydney his home.

Martin’s interests in physiotherapy are in injury prevention, biomechanics and correcting movement dysfunctions. He has a particular interest in assessing and treating shoulder and hip dysfunctions. He uses a variety of manual therapy techniques and corrective exercises to achieve excellent outcomes and long-term recovery.

Martin is an avid Liverpool FC fan who believes that this might actually be the year they win the English Premier League!
